Bill Henson – 3 decades of photography
The Bill Henson exhibiiton closed this week at the National Gallery of Victoria. I was lucky enough to go to the closing party and view his work.
Bill Henson, arguably one of Australias leading contemporary visual artists, has proven his mastry of light and colour with his three decades of photography exhibition.His use of light and dark compares to the traditional styles of the great European masters. Presented were beatiful and often confronting images, portraying life in its simplicity, and complexity.
The exhibition was like taking a hand held journey into the lives of his subjects, and walking down the street with the artist as he picked out interesting features in every day life and explained in his own way why he was fascinated by each one of them. His message was inspiring and emotional

Bill Henson is one of the most talented photographers ever! His artworks have moved and inspired me in no way any other artwork has! A real genius and definately one of the greatest talents ever!
